HTCS Duke of Edinburgh Award Silver Training in Borrowdale: The Middle

On the second day students abandoned the comfort of Youth Hostel and took to the Eastern fells of Borrowdale on their journey to Keswick.  The weather was supposed to be windy and it did not fail to arrive.   The force of the wind made journeying on foot challenging and whilst a temporary respite was gained in Dale Bottom at the end of the day it did not last long with students (1 student) and staff (Stones and Fenwick) waking at 3.30AM to peg down flapping tents. Despite the weather it was a valuable experience for all.
